Our Massage Therapy department is designed to take an integrative approach, assessing and working on specific soft tissue structures that may be causing pain, nerve entrapment, causing dysfunction in joints, and faulty muscle recruitment patterns. Manual Therapy sessions are specific to individual needs and it focuses on discovering the etiology of the problem and correcting it through a hands on approach utilizing life changes, exercise, diet, and massage techniques.

Whether you need to relax and destress or have a specific injury or pain, we at Elevation Fitness can help you through Massage Therapy. Massage therapy is an ART and a SCIENCE, and we blend the two. 


We integrate our knowledge of pain and injury conditions with an understanding of the function of various massage techniques commonly used in the field. 

Some of the benefits of massage/manual therapy are:


Calms the nervous system: 

When we are consistently stressed our nervous system becomes over loaded and we become stuck in “Fight or Flight” mode. Massage is one of the best ways to destress and relax the nervous system reminding our body that we do not need to be in fight or flight at all times. 


Improves circulation: 

Specific massage techniques are used to improve blood flow throughout the body and in certain muscles. It is common that decreased circulation to muscles are the reason they become tight and joints become immobile causing you to feel pain and discomfort. 


Decreases pain: 

Massage can decrease pain by loosening tight muscles, breaking up scar-tissue and myofascial adhesions. Massage also helps improve lymphatic drainage witch removes toxins out of the muscles. 


Rehabilitates injuries:

Massage can restore balance to the muscles, improve circulation and lymphatic drainage. Mobilizing the muscles and breaking up the scar tissue that is accumulated from over use or a traumatic injury has the best effects for normalizing the muscle tissue. Techniques such as ART (active release technique) is one of the best forms of soft tissue treatment. 

Services Offered

Swedish Massage:

This is the most common type of massage which incorporates a full body treatment commanding different strokes such as effleurage, petrissage, and deep tissue.  This is especially good for relaxation and general muscle soreness. 



Sports massage: 

This type of massage is used along with medical massage. It is designed to work 

with individuals who are pre and post surgery, as well as sports injuries and/or general pains. 


A.R.T (Active Release Technique) *performed by a certified active release therapist*: 

A.R.T is a form of massage that mobilizes soft tissue, increases circulation and brakes up myofascial adhesions and scar tissue in our muscles. This type of treatment is extremely popular with Chiropractors, Physical Therapists and Massage Therapists, to treat injury in athletes. A.R.T is one of the main soft tissue treatments amongst CrossFit competitors, Gymnasts, Martial Artists and other athletes/sports teams. 


Deep tissue: 

This type of massage is designed to penetrate the deepest layers of muscle tissue and helps mobilize them to restore proper function, flexibility, and joint mobility.
